I came across this article and it piqued my interest. Mainly because when I’m on Yahoo Instant Messenger, and I get someone who I don’t know sending me a message, I’ll ask “Have you ever taken a Turing test?” If the question is ignored, it’s a bot, usually trying to get me to go to a porn site. Lately the bots have not been too frequent, thank goodness. Personally I kinda like the idea of a turning test on IM, but not so much on email. I have yet to run into such an aggressive spam filter as they did in the article, but I’m sure I will. Then again, I kinda like the idea that people might think I’m a machine…Hell, customers at work sometimes think I’m a recording when I answer the phone, I need to get that monotonous voice down so I can pretend to be a machine until they hang up
