Disjointed Digression

I’ve been playing too much World of Warcraft. I’m fairly certain of this. The reason I say this is that I actually got out of the house last night to go see Sin City with Beav, his wife, Outland and his wife Fae. On the way to the movie, Outland asked how things were I said “the usual”. And Fae said “Oh, work, wow, sleep, cat and sometimes food in that order?” And she was right. But I didn’t start this to talk about my addiction…

Sin City! I don’t think I’ve been this hyped about a movie since Hellboy. If you’ve read the comic/graphic novels you know what to expect and I think will dig the movie. It’s the comic book come to life! If you haven’t read the comics, I still recommend it if you like film noir. Its a modern film noir, its pulp fiction (not the movie), it’s grim, it’s gritty, and it’s great!
I will admit It has been a few years since I read Sin City, but it’s pretty much like I remember. I’m not sure stylized is the best way to describe the look of this film, but I can’t come up with a better word. The casting was great too. Mickey Rourke was Marv. Marv has been my favorite tough guy since I read the first Sin City series. I’m not much of a Jessica Alba fan, but she was good as Nancy. Powers Booth as sen. Rourk was great, as was Rutger Haur as the Cardinal. It’s almost like they got the fan boys dream cast to do the movie! Sin City is a great film, I recommend it!
