Because someone demanded it!
Well, just so you know, I have seen Star Wars Episode III Revenge of the Sith. I haven’t said much about it. I figured most of you have seen it already and formed your own opinions. I thought it was the best of the new three. Darker than the others, but let’s face it, if you have seen the original trilogy, you knew in a general sense what was going to happen. Anakin was going to get the black armor, the messed up face/head, and have to be on some sort of respirator that made him sound like James Earl Jones.
Just so you don’t say I didn’t warn you ****SPOILERS****
What I liked:
I think it was Peter David that said this but I also liked it, Ewan McGregor aging into Alec Guiness.
No Jar Jar
The Special effects, of course!
Little things that gave the nod to the original Star Wars, such as Obi-Wan picking up Anakin’s blue lightsaber at the end. “Your father wanted you to have this when you were old enough, but your uncle wouldn’t allow it. He feared you might follow old Obi-Wan on some damn fool idealistic crusade like your father did. It’s your father’s lightsaber.”
No Jar Jar
I also liked the fight scenes, lots of action!
Wookie army! ’nuff said
Stormtroopers in camouflage!
No Jar Jar
Once Anakin became evil, he went whole hog, granted he thought it was to save the woman he loved, but he dove in feet first. Also that he viewed it as not evil, but as right from his point of view, and that the opposite of his point of view is evil.
Oh, and did I mention No Jar Jar?
Stuff I didn’t like:
Dooku being killed so quickly
The fact that you were supposed to have watched the cartoon to understand the beginning of the movie, and know just who the fuck this General Grievous cyborg guy is.
General Grievous in general, maybe he was cool in the cartoon, but he sucked here.
Natalie Portman’s acting. She had maybe one scene where she actually seemed to act. The scene in the Senate with Jimmy Smits. Otherwise she just seemed to be phoning it in.
All the “touching” scenes between Padme and Anakin. Lucas just can’t do the “sweet, touching” scenes. He should have gotten Spielberg to help him with that.
Since Padme died in childbirth (or shortly thereafter) this dialoge/scene in Return of the Jedi :
Luke: Leia, do you remember your mother? Your real mother?
Princess Leia: Just a little bit. She died when I was very young.
Luke: What do you remember?
Princess Leia: Just… images really. Feelings.
Luke: Tell me.
Princess Leia: She was… very beautiful. Kind, but sad. Why are you asking me this?
Luke: I have no memory of my mother. I never knew her.
is now wrong. Leia would have never known her mother just like Luke.
The fact that there is a whole other movies worth of story in a)the hunting down of the Jedi order, b) The war against the droids, and c)slowly having Anakin go to the dark side/expounding upon Obi-Wan and Anakin’s friendship/hatred.
Also the Frankenstein scene at the end with Palpatine bringing Vader to “life”. OMFG that was way too cheesy. Lucas needs to do a special edition and remove that, right fucking now!
Here is what I think could have been better about all three movies:
1) No Jar Jar.
2) General Grievous as the bad guy in Episode 1, Dooku in 2/3 and Darth Maul in 3. That would have been kick ass to have Vader vs. Maul for Sith apprentice.
3) Mitaclorines?? Come on! Leave it as a “an energy field created by all living things. It surrounds us and penetrates us. It binds the galaxy together.”
4) Anakin should have been introduced at about age 17, not 9.
5) More Qui-Gon. More Qui-Gon interacting with Mace Windu.
6) A little story about Boba Fett.
Ok, I’m digressing a bit much, and I’ve nerded all over the place.
To sum up, I liked Episode III better than Episode II and much better than Episode I. Comparing it to the original three, I liked it a little better than Return of the Jedi, but not as much as A New Hope or The Empire Strikes back. It’s worth watching, if for no other reason, you get a bit of closure.

My Take On Revenge Of The Sith
Too bad about Natalie Portman in Revenge of the Sith because she can deliver the goods….
