The inter-species relations in my apartment seem to be getting a bit better. Yesterday and this morning, Queue ventured out of the FOZ (Feline Only Zone) and into the GLA (General Living Area). You see in the apartment we have one of those little plastic child gates separating off the guest room, computer room and guest bathroom, that comprises the FOZ. Zaida can’t get under or over the gate, Queue on the other hand can easily jump on and over the gate and go anywhere he wants in the living room, kitchen, master bedroom (the GLA).
Actually there was one time a while back, when he was in a frenzy to get away from Zaida, that he jumped on top of the gate and leapt with the full power of his back legs and smacked right into the wall. He was ok, and it was funny, imo. Candy chastised me for laughing at the little guy. But I digress…
Of course, anytime Queue hears Zaida’s dog tags jingle, he starts to head for the gate. If the jingling indicates that the dog is moving, he sprints to the gate and vaults it. So as long as Zaida remains on her perch on her old love seat, Queue will come over the gate and explore and ask to be petted. Hopefully he will keep it up, I kinda miss the little guy being all over the place and I hate to think that he feels that he is being imprisoned.
And that’s your FCR (Feline Canine Relations) report for this month
