I hate spam. Well, I can’t say all spam, I like Monty Python.
But email spam bugs me. We get a lot of it at work into our support email box. All sorts of it, mostly to enhance male sexual potency, porn sites, and pharmaceuticals. I get some here at home mostly mortgage information : “You’re pre-approved for a great mortgage but this is your 47th and last chance”. So I was really upset the other day when someone txt messaged my phone with Spam. WTF?? How did they even get my number? And then at work, I had a message on my extension. Thinking it was maybe Candy, or a message from the boss, I called and checked it. Voicemail spam! It was a recording for me to call somewhere about cable services. When did this shit start? I got a call on that number last week that had a stupid message about the same thing. Are telemarketers becoming so lazy that they can’t even talk for themselves? Or are they becoming so tired of rejection that they just let a recoding do all the talking and hope someone will listen until the end and then call them back? Here’s a few hints to all you dumbfuck telemarketers: 1) don’t call me at work. 2) If you want me to call you back when you leave me a message, give me a real incentive like cash, not just a “really good deal on product x” that I can get from your competitor who will actually talk to me. Honestly when did this voicemail spam start? I realize there were three years where I was not on a “real” work phone (I didn’t have an extension or voicemail, just took call after call that came rolling into a queue.) But this is just ridiculous. And if I’m the only one this is happening to, which I doubt, I’m going to be even more pissed!
